Teeth Brushing

I don't think Cinnamon has ever been to the dentist but she knows she has to take care of her teeth in her old age, she doesn't want to lose them! So after each meal she lays on the carpet and brushes her teeth by rubbing her face back and forth.
Its pretty funny, and this is the first time it has been caught on film! As shes a very private person and its hard to take a picture of her brushing without her noticing.

Captain Cinnamon and the Carpet Sea

Lately when were watching tv or eating dinner or just not paying enough attention to Cinnamon she will grab the corner of her bed (that is usually right next to the couch) and she pulls it out into the middle of the floor to get our attention. And then she gets tired and has a nice sleep, floating on her boat out in the Carpet Sea. Ahoy!

And sometimes she just goes back and sleeps in the sea where her bed used to be...

Autumn Dog Park

We took Cinnamon to the park today, its been a while but we wanted to get nice fall photos of her with the orange and yellow trees all around her. Unfortunately the trees at the dog park hadn't changed their color yet...
We took some pictures anyways, and she was happy running around there again.

It's a Miracle!

Today as we were getting ready to give Cinnamon a bath I noticed that her eye was bleeding....!

I worked fast to clean off her eye and noticed that the growth that used to be on her eye was gone!! Take a look at her before and after pics we took today. The growth would pull her eye down and looked like a swollen raisin - but now she is good as new.

Ocean Shores - Day 3

The last day was the best of all! The sun was out and we relaxed on the beach all morning together. Cinnamon's paws got so sandy, but that didn't stop her from licking them clean!

When we got home that evening we had to hose her down before she was allowed back in the house. She just stood out in front of the house and let us wash all the sand away. She is so cute when she is all wet! It was a great trip and we are going to try and find more places like that so cinnamon can vacation with us more often!

Ocean Shores - Day 2

Took Cinnamon for a morning walk in the dunes first thing in the morning. The air smelled like sea water, sunshine and fresh grass - she loved it. We walked through all of these trails together and she was stopping every other second to smell every last bit of grass out there.

Ocean Shores - Day 1

We made it to the hotel and went straight to the beach. Cinnamon romped in the water and then laid down to soak up the scenery. What a perfect first day of vacation!

Going on a trip...

Guess what??!! The Corley's are going on a trip! Mom and dad started packing, so Cinnamon decided she would gather her things for the vacation to Ocean Shores. Boy was she excited. She needed to get her raccoon baby - where is that thing. Oh yeah, it is by the bed. Got it mom - I am all packed and ready for my car ride

The first snow

Cinnamon was born in Florida, so of course she had never seen snow until we moved to Washington.

We moved when when she was 2 years old, back in '96, it was fall and then that winter it was the first snow for all of us.

This is me with her enjoying the snow. She probably wasn't looking up because she was getting attacked by snow flakes, or maybe she was eating them, or maybe she lost a contact, who knows.

But look, there she is! smaller, younger, and all cinnamon colored.

Sunny days for business dog

When its sunny out the sun is bright, people get all squinty with their eyes cause its so bright, doggies do to. Us people use sunglasses to help with the squinting, but not dogs, well I guess some pets wear sunglasses for brief periods of time for funny photography. Thats probably all over the web, I bet there's a website called letsputsunglassesonourpetscauseitsfunnylooking.com

If there is I'm not a subscriber to that site. When Cinnamon wears glasses its serious stuff, shes all business when she has those on. Oh? Shes wearing them indoors you say.... well, uh... she was in a meeting, about business when these photos were snapped.

Seriously.

That laying down pic, well, you know how boring some meetings can be.

Stairs

Stairs can be hard when you get older, if you were 98 would like to climb two stories of stairs every time you want to go outside and play or go pottie? I should think not.

Cinnamon also doesn't seem to enjoy the stairs as of late. Shes a trooper though, she tackles them with stiff determination. So stiff that sometimes her back legs act up in a manner to which they've been giving out on her because they are, oh so tired.

We understand that stairs are no fun, so we have begun to carry her upstairs when Cinnamon does not feel like climbing them that day. It's really quite nice, she just tucks her back legs under her tummy and looks around wondering when this human elevator will let her down.

Thankfully shes not too heavy, but of course even if she was, we'd still lift her.
